About

A teacher must never impose this student to fit his favourite pattern; a good teacher functions as a pointer, exposing his student’s vulnerability (and) causing him to explore both internally and finally integrating himself with his being. – Bruce Lee

Studio T is a training studio for serious athletes – and people who take responsibility for their health seriously.   Located in Denver, CO, Studio T provides skill based training, coaching and sports rehab for athletics, ballet, martial arts and the performing arts.

Studio T offers only individual training.  While each person has unique objectives, there is a common set of objectives for the studio mission and community started with the launch of this Studio T Pro Edition site:

  • Expanding our knowledge base of movements for well-rounded training
  • Deepen our understanding of essential foundational patterns and essential biomechanics relevant to a situation
  • Expanding our mastery like Bruce Lee – relying upon ourselves to be our own master trainer

Note: with the Go STPro brand Trademark recently approved – the following is being updated to replace “synergistic” with the STPro trademark: BIO-Jet Athletic – Biokinetic Algorithms —  Date 3/9/17

Studio T Certifications Summary

The MS is in applied statistics, with honors, and comes in most useful in interpreting the plethora of online “health research stuff” with a skeptical approach. And in biomechanics where a little physics and math nerd skill goes a long way.

The TRX Rip, while obscure, is actually the most useful integrated, dynamic rotational qualification that layers on top of the other foundational training certs. The Polestar Pilates certification is 400 hr comprehensive including in-person exams for functional anatomy, demonstration and teaching on all movements and two-day final in-person exams covering teaching, written and oral exams (Studio T score was 97%, with 100% on Teaching and Rehab Programming).

STPro Studio Tour

By client request, Studio T started documenting the work we are doing at the studio in this blog.  This blog is an evolving repository based on client feedback on the most effective and engaging workout routines, special topics and FAQs, demonstrations of moves and the essential cues to gain benefit from the exercise.  Hopefully you can find something here that changes your life.

Here’s a quick tour of the studio, located in the Santa Fe Arts District, Denver, CO.

Synergistic Training – It All Started with the Muay Thai Lunch Special Routine – And The STPro Edition Blog Evolves…

By design, Studio T teaches “synergistic” workouts in routines designed as a muscle-activation sequence (or “flow”) by drawing from the following disciplines: martial arts, boxing, ballet, gymnastics, Parkour, Pilates, Muay Thai, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, military fitness, Firefighter workouts and even TacFit for movement cross-training.   These ancient arts are based upon leveraging the human body’s biomechanical processes in an optimal way to resist gravity, generate force and enable robust total body health and capability.   Blend in some modern science, figure out how to teach it, test out a few flows and Voila!  Modern, effective and interesting cross-train.

This blog started up by request from the hard-working hard-cores at the studio.  Posts and content are generated from tested workout routines, anonymized case studies, FAQs on common rehab issues, successes in applied teaching techniques and general issues (such as alternatives to crunches and therabands).   And Tech Tips.  Folks like a reminder for their own training.  And we also share this training with friends & family all over the country and the world.  So STPro started getting this all down in an organized fashion.  Trademark applications for STPro tested best routines are pending.

About the Owner

Origin Story

Master T originally made a successful career in quantitative analytics for marketing and advertising – until T was severely injured in a backcountry snowboarding accident which threatened her career and lifestyle.

Happy Place – Montezuma Bowl, A-Basin Colorado

Personal sports interests – Division 1 Freestyle swimmer (50meter freestyle), surfing, backcountry snowboarding, mountain biking, tennis, trail-running and mountain marathon running.  Expert sailor with 200hrs at Annapolis Sailing Academy.  Parkour wannabe.  Wing Chun neophyte.

From working with only the best sports rehab and sheer stubbornness, T learned a more sophisticated method for the restoration and training for movement, sports and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle.  After a couple years of study and certification processes, the Studio T was born.  But here’s the thing, Master T was making big bucks – and this type of knowledge was very expensive, time-consuming and not available in many places.  Until the studio and now this blog.

Work Style:

In Colorado mountain style, studio t is dog friendly.  A positive and upbeat workout environment clears the mind and supports working through failure to achieve new levels.  This is Lily assisting the demonstration of a Shoulder Mechanics & Lateral System integration move.   She visits with her human once a week.   Lily is a natural Parkour athlete and shenanigator, but her true expertise is Cat Boxing.
